The Knuston Hall Open Day, held for the first time on August Bank Holiday Monday, was a resounding success and looks to become an Annual Event.
Over 700 people came on the day – and had great fun.
They listened to the Hand Bell Ringers, and the Saxophone Group, watched the Flea Circus,
and eat their fill at the Hog Roast, and the ‘Pudding Club’.
There was a Children’s Circus where they had a go at Plate Twirling and Juggling.
They also enjoyed themselves with the Rare Bread Animals
( I am not so sure that the animals enjoyed it! They looked rather nervous, certainly to start with)
For the adults there were the tutors to watch, demonstrating the various courses that are on offer,
including Lacemaking, Upholstery, Calligraphy, Patchwork, Beadwork, Chinese Brush painting, Patchwork etc.,
Also Patchwork and Lace Suppliers with goodies for you to buy.
And for us Lacemakers there was Alison Winn with a have a go pillow for those who were starting out with Lace…
…and Barbara Underwood and Dennise Vickery and members of their advanced Lace course…
…Showing you just how beautiful Bedfordshire Lace could be.
