The Makit Fenland Fair 25th Anniversary Lace Competition, 2015
To celebrate the 25th year of the Fenland Fair – A free entry competition open to all Lacemakers!
A competition to encourage the novice, experienced Lacemaker and Lace Teacher to demonstrate their individual skill and ingenuity by making one piece of lace, other than a bookmark, on the theme of ‘Silver’ using techniques and materials of your own choice. Size no larger than 30cm by 30cm (12”x12”) – what could be easier!
In response to numerous requests we have created a new category for Lace Teachers and Designers in addition to the existing categories of Novice and Experienced lacemaker.
This will give many teachers the opportunity to present their work to the wider lacemaking community and above all, show budding lacemakers what can be achieved. A single prize of a £50.00 makit gift voucher will be awarded to the winner of this section.
• The Novice – for those who started making after January 2013
• The experienced lacemaker
• Teacher – lacemakers who have taught lace professionally
The competition is for Lace Makers across the UK (and if any came from further afield that would be great!) You even do not have to attend the fair though we would love to see you there.
Prizes are offered for entries within the following categories:
First prize – £50 worth of Makit gift vouchers
Second prize – £30 worth of Makit gift vouchers
Third prize – £20 worth of Makit gift vouchers
Teacher’s prize – £50 worth of Makit gift vouchers
Take up the challenge and enter the competition, see how your work measures up to those of other Lacemakers –
you could be amazed with the results!!
We cannot wait to see what you come up with!
